Administrative Details

(1)Candidates should:

Be nominated by their governmental organizations, in accordance with the procedure to be mentioned below in 2.2. Application procedure.
Be a mid-managerial or high level government official and/or policymaker from the nominating country (Be younger than fifty years old).
Have a university degree (equivalent to at least a Bachelor degree).
Preferably have some background in the environment and/or economics, and a minimum of five years relevant work experience.
Be able to understand lectures delivered in English and participate in discussions in English.
Be in good health, both physically and mentally, to complete the course.
(2) Requirements for Participants
Participants are required to:
All participants are requested to prepare and submit their country report on the themes mentioned above by email to EHRD (Email: brainjs@me.go.kr) by 10 October 2008.
Participants will be requested to give a presentation on the country report at the country report presentation session (about 15 minutes).
Return to their home country at the end of the programme according to the international travel schedule set by EHRD;
  Refrain from engaging in political activities or any form of employment for profit or gain during your stay in the Republic of Korea; and
  Observe the training and accommodation rules, e.g. remain at the accommodation designated by EHRD for the duration of your stay.

Each prospective participant nominated by the government is required to fill in the application form, and send it to UNESCAP by Friday 19 September 2008 by email or fax to:

EHRD, the managing organization, will send more detailed information on the themes and guidelines for the country report and group discussion by September.
